Ok, I just got off the phone with the director of the Korea program at Barker. And she was able to give me a little more info on an updated time line.
At this point they are still getting referrals for babies born before the end of 2006. And they are being referred under the 2006 guidelines. At some point they will run out of babies with 2006 birth dates and then they will be going with the 2007 guidelines. What this means is that when they run out of 2006 babies there will be a hold on referrals until the end of May, so the first of the 2007 babies can turn 5 months old. Then they are expecting referrals to pick back up, and they are not expecting the time-til-travel to be any longer than it is now (2-3 months).
So if you map this out...We should be ready for the home study to start by 3/1. Finish our meetings by 4/1. Paperwork sent to Korea sometime in April. Get a referral maybe in 6/07 or 7/07 baby home 8/07 or 9/07. Sounds good in theory, right? I think the beginning of fall would be great. That way the kids would be in school and I could have time with the baby during most of the day, while we are all in the transition period. But I know God has His time line all worked out for us. But since things seems to be moving again, it is just so fun to speculate.
Please be in prayer not just for us, but for our baby and his birth mother. Thanks for all of your support!
