Being Reviewed

Okay, our request for Hope to come to the US is being reviewed. I just got an email from USCIS saying that there was a decrepancy with her birthdates on our paperwork. I emailed them back with all of the correct information and I pray that will be enough,so we can get approved and move on to the next step...NVC (National Visa Center). NVC dosn't really do much and then they send everything on to the Embysee. Truthfully I don't think any of the US agencies do much. They just look at all the paper work and approve it and pass it on to the next one. Sometimes they issue somthing significant like say a visa or something fun like that. ;-)But why this all takes so long??? Really I have no idea. They all send stuff snail mail to each other and so that takes time.

Oh and the other question I keep getting is "So do you know when you are going?" No....and we won't know anything in advance, ever. Really, we will just get a call saying "Come get your daughter". We may know when some of the approvals are done and so we may be able to guess we are getting closer, but we won't know for sure until she is ready to come home. So, no I will not make any advanced plans...no plane tickets until they call, no hotel reservations, nothing like that. Then once they call I will be frantic trying to make arrangements to get there as quick as I can. But, it's not like they will give her to someone else if I don't come soon enough. They like you to travel withon about a week, but they won't pass her on to the next person if you can't make it till the following week.

But don't worry, plane fares are not much if any more expensive on short notice. And hopefully we will be staying at the Guest House at the adoption agency in Korea, and they have really great rooms for families at great prices. I am really not too concerned about that part yet..I feel pretty prepared for that. I know I want to fligh from RIC to O'Hare (I know don't say it) so I meet my sis at O'hare and then we can make the 17hour (yep 17 not 7) flight to Seoul together. And then back through O'hare so there is an option for my Mom and StepDad to come meet Hope on our way home, during our layover.

Can you tell I have been thinking alot about all of this latly? Oh, and ya I have started packing. Hope is pretty much packed. Now I am starting to think about packing myself and my carry-on. Oh and her room is all done...I will post some pics. We used the same crib and bedding that we had for Will and Brooke. I love the color we painted the room and I hope you can see in the pics, that we put some butterflies as a border around the top. We still need to get some pics to hang that we love , but I am waiting till we find the right ones. Oh, and the "Pooh" pics above the changing table, those we used for Will and Brooke too. Gotta get her used to hand-me-downs from the get go ;-).

Well I think that is all for now. I will post again when I have new info.
