It is hard to sleep when you are...

(If you are getting this from Feedblitz..check out my actual blog..I changed some stuff)

You may or may not be aware that Hope has had some variety in her sleeping habits. When she first came home she was great and she was sleeping longer and longer. Then about 6 weeks after she came home it started to hit a standstill and even get worse. Although she still has no problem going down, she has been getting up sometimes once, most nights twice and sometimes three times a night. And she will not go back to sleep without at least a few ounces of formula.

So, I was coming to my wits end as to how to help her and me sleep better. I have tried letting her fuss for a little longer each time, diluting her formula at night, putting her to bed earlier and later. Nothing was working. I had basically given up. This process happened naturally with my other 2 kiddos I figured it will eventually happen naturally with Hope too.

Then a couple of nights ago I had an abnormally hard time putting Hope to bed. I would lay her down and then a few minutes later she would be howling again. About the 3rd time I went up I noticed that her arms and legs seemed cool to the touch. I always cover her with a blanket, but she rolls and kicks it off. This time she seemed so cold I wanted to make sure she stayed covered. So I put her in a baby SleepSack (they are a zip up blanket with holes for her head and arms). She slept 12hours straight! The next night she was only up once. I imagine it is hard to sleep when you are COLD.

You would think ,this being my 3rd baby, that I would know how to keep my child warm. That's the thing about mothering...each kid teaches you something new.

Note to self: Keep baby warm.

Guilty of this for baby number 3 too! I felt so bad! Glad she is sleeping better!
