Good news..and not so good news

Hip hip hooray!! We got the I-171H from USCIS today. But wait..it's wrong. I think I need to back up before I tell you what is wrong about it.
When we first sent in the application to USCIS to adopt a forgien orphan we applied to adopt one child (you have to put the maximum # you want). Then as time went by we thought maybe 2 would not be such a bad idea. So we made some calls and emails and because we had not done the home study yet we were able to change the number on our form to 2 children. Or so we thought.

The bad news is that when the I-171H came in the mail today is says that we are approved to adopt 1 child. So now we have to do more leg work to see if we did not qualify to 2 or if the change we made to 2 is not reflected and how hard it is going to be to get this all fixed.
Now wait just a minute don't get all excited that we are going to get two babies. This is why we tried to keep it to ourselves that we are open to 2. The only way we would get 2 is if there are twins waiting for us in Korea. Korea dose not have other sibling groups. And the chances of twins is very very low. Along with the fact that there are probably other families ahead of us that are open to twins also.

Please, don't get your hopes up for twins. We really just felt like we wanted to be open to whatever God has planned for our family, and changing the number on the form seemed like a step of faith to show God that we trust Him. The reality is that it would truly take a work of God for us to get referred twins. Which we know He can do..but it is more likely that He has already chosen one special little boy to add to our family. And we will be blessed by that one boy.

So just when I think our file is on the way to Korea..one more, hopefully little, delay.
