Home Sweet Home

We are home at last!

Our spur of the moment vacation to San Antonio turned out to be a blast, in spite of the rainy first few days.

Tues afternoon the weather cleared and the kids and I headed to a Wildlife animal Safari. It was really fun to drive through and feed ; buffalos, deer, zebras, ostriches, and wildebeests.

Wed. we went downtown to meet up with our previous neighbors. We toured The Alamo, and went to the Tower of the Americas for a birds eye snack and drink in the lounge. Then to our neighbor's new house and out to dinner with them. It was great to reconnect.

On Thursday the kids and I needed a break so we layed low at the apartment for most of the day. I was reminded that all kids really need to have fun is each other, but a pool and a few pennies don't hurt either. We spent a few hours at the pool while the big kids dived for pennies and Hope and I waded in the water. That evening we headed back to the River Walk for a fun dinner at the Rainforest Cafe'. After Hope got over the gorilla and the rainstorms at our table dinner was a blast.

Fri. Raymond took 1/2 the day off and we headed back to give Seaworld another try. It was muuuuch better. I don't think it was as good as the one in Orlando, but we enjoyed ourselves.

Then Sat. it was time to travel home. Was it a piece of cake?..no, but it was not as bad as it could have been either. I think we will do something like this again, probably next summer.

Now it is time to get organized for school to start. We are all excited to go Thurs. night to find out who the kids's teachers are and who is in their classes. And then school starts next Tues. Yes, in case you are wondering, I will be doing the happy dance as the bus pulls away with my 2 oldest on it. The summer has been great and I have enjoyed having the freedom with the kids to do fun stuff. But now I am ready to get everyone back to a routine. We all need a little more balance.
