6 months

Can you believe it has been SIX months since Hope came home? Sometimes it seems like just yesterday that we were waiting to get the phone call telling us that she was ready to come home. And other times I can't remember what our family was like without her in it. I look at pictures of the baby that I brought home March 22, 2008 and I hardly recognize her. It is hard to believe she is the same baby that is running around the house and pulling everything out of the pantry as soon as she gets a chance.

The baby I picked up in Korea was tiny and had this dark thin little Mohawk of hair.

Hope is 21 lbs and growing like a weed, with a head full of silky dark hair.

The other baby would have much rather have been with a Korean family (any Korean family).

Hope will hardly leave our sight for a minute. She finally stayed in the nursery at church for the first time this Sunday (thanks to our sweet friend ,Sally, who held her the whole time).

The baby I brought home would not take a bottle from any of us (until due to dehydration she finally gave in 4 days later).

Hope loves snuggling up with me and a "baba" before naps and bedtime.

She is not that other baby anymore. She is our beautiful, sweet, head strong Hope. She loves her family..especially all the attention she gets from her brother and sister, she can hardly contain her excitement when she sees them come off the bus from school. She loves to pet the cats and bark at every dog she sees. She dose not like to sit in shopping carts, she wants to ride in the comfort of her stroller. She wants to feed herself, but only with the proper utensils. She loves music class on Friday morning, the girl can turn anything in to a drum. And she is always ready to go "bye bye" even if she has no clue where we are going.

To watch this transformation has been a blessing. And to have the privilege of having her in our family is an even bigger one. Now that she has been home 6 months we will soon be able to finalize her adoption. Our family has forever been changed for the better.
