The first week of school went well (I will get to the second week of school later). We got into a good routine and are tweaking the schedule to try and fit everything in. The kids both seem happy with new curriculum, and so am I. Hope is quite a challenge. It is hard to keep her occupied and quiet while the big kids are trying to get school done, so we are trying to use her nap as a large part of our school time each day..but Mom needs that same time to get house work done, thus the challenge. So we are still trying to figure some things out.
Hope is great in another area though.....She is potty trained. We went cold turkey on the diapers the Wednesday before Labor day and she has not looked back. We still have pull-ups for night-time and naps..but that is it. Accidents are less and less..in fact we went to Williamsburg yesterday (for a field trip) and she did not have one accident. She is doing awesome.
So the second week of school..not soo great, good/okay, just not great. We are leaving on Sat to go on a Disney cruise and I am on freak-out packing mode. Which means that all of Hope's nap time is being devoted to getting things ready to leave and getting things done around the house. Although we always get in Math and Grammar, I am relying on educational TV shows and books (all based around our Egypt unit) to get the kids their science and history for the next few days. And we also had the all day trip to Colonial Williamsburg..that was good for education, too , right?
Right now it dose not feel like our summer is over quite yet. We are all counting down the days til our trip starts and I think when we get back our summer will finally end. And we will be ready to settle into our routine for a good long while.
Now off to my many lists of to-dos and to pack, before we can load up the van and head out of here Sat. morning.

You'll have to give me some tips on potty training a little girl. I did two boys, but I have heard that girls are quicker. Looking forward to THAT! Congrats on the progress!
Glad to hear you had a great first week! Our first couple were rough. I started my youngest in Kindergarten. We're still workin' it out!
Can't wait to hear about your trip, when you get back! Sounds like a GREAT time!
